Review for In Your Eyes by Diana Nixon - In Your Eyes Blog Tour

In Your Eyes by Diana Nixon

Blurb:
My life has never been perfect. I lost, I lied, I cried. But there was one thing that I thought would stay with me forever — my love… Adrian was my everything. The day he died, I died with him. It was like being caught up in a nightmare, with no reason to keep breathing, with nothing to hold on to. But one day, everything changed. I didn’t know I was lost until the moment Nic found me. He made me laugh, he made me feel, he made me believe that I could love again. I thought I would never feel alive, but then I looked into his eyes and I was lost. Only this time, it was not a nightmare swallowing me, but a beautiful dream coming true.Just when I thought there was no hope for tomorrow, my heart found a reason to beat faster…

Review:
In Your Eyes overlaps with Love Undone and is Emily’s story. So those of you who haven’t read it might want to read it first before jumping to this one, it gives a better understanding of the story.
With that out of the way, In Your Eyes is the perfect read for a lazy day with intriguing characters and an engaging plot. As always Diana Nixon reels you in from the get go. It is always great to read about another character’s happily ever after and to fill in the blanks to the story that you love. It gives another depth to the first story and I think it just adds to the whole plot.
If I had to point out a negative, I’d say it could use a little fine tuning, but one can’t deny the beauty of this story.

In Your Eyes is a story about second chances, it is about giving yourself a chance to love again. For all those who love a romance with a little bit of feels, this one is for you!

Also isn't the cover absolutely GORGEOUS!?!? I think its one of my favorites!

Follow the blog tour here.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY!! Hope this book is a success! <3

Review for The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder

The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder
Blurb:
Campbell Cooper has never been in love. And if the doctors are right, she'll never have the chance. So when she's told she needs a miracle, her family moves 1,500 miles north to Promise, Maine--a place where amazing, unexplainable events are said to occur--like it or not. And when a mysterious envelope arrives, containing a list of things for Cam to do before she dies, she finally learns to believe--in love, in herself, and maybe even in miracles, as improbable as they may seem.

Review:
I suppose there are miracles that happen once in a while, but the tiny little things that happen, the little miracles if you will, the ones that make you believe are the ones to remember.

The Probability of Miracles is the story of Cam, a girl who has been battling the big C for so long and knows she can't have a future. She rationalizes everything, always has an explanation for everything, and usually is right. So when they get to Promise, Maine she tries to rationalize those miracles as well. But some things can't be explained or rationalized away.

The tagline "One Summer to Live a Lifetime" seems so appropriate. Cam hasn't lived, not really, till she comes to Promise and finds everything she has been missing out on.

I loved the writing style and I loved Cam's animal loving nature! How she made that deal with Bart and saved Buddy! Aw! Made me love her more! I loved the fact that the book got me right in the feels but I wasn't a mess in the end. The ending was like having closure.

Oh and this book makes its way onto my Gorgeous Book Covers list! I mean come on!! How gorgeous is that cover!?! *-* <3

Emotional, profound and lovable; this book was a great read.

!!!!Spoiler Alert!!!!

Oh the lengths she goes to to create miracles, specially the one with James Madison. It was epic!
Also I really liked the little profound thoughts she wrote down in the book!
I just had to share these!

Review for Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

Blurb:
It begins as an assignment for English class: Write a letter to a dead person.

Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain because her sister, May, loved him. And he died young, just like May. Soon, Laurel has a notebook full of letters to the dead—to people like Janis Joplin, Heath Ledger, Amelia Earhart, and Amy Winehouse—though she never gives a single one of them to her teacher. She writes about starting high school, navigating the choppy waters of new friendships, learning to live with her splintering family, falling in love for the first time, and, most important, trying to grieve for May. But how do you mourn for someone you haven't forgiven?
It's not until Laurel has written the truth about what happened to herself that she can finally accept what happened to May. And only when Laurel has begun to see her sister as the person she was—lovely and amazing and deeply flawed—can she truly start to discover her own path.
In a voice that's as lyrical and as true as a favorite song, Ava Dellaira writes about one girl's journey through life's challenges with a haunting and often heartbreaking beauty.

Review:

It all started with an assignment. The whole book is written in the form of letters to the dead.

This book is about coping with the loss of someone you loved so deeply; trying so hard to fit into a box that the world wants to see us in, that we want to fit in to, but in the end just finding ourselves; and making sense of things when the world doesn't seem to.

It felt like Laurel, by writing letters to the dead and trying to find closure in their demise, thinking about what their lives were like, was trying to make sense of her own world. In the end it felt like she did.

Beautifully written and heartwarming. Just had a little something missing to make it a splendid read.

Review:
Totally not what I expected after the cover reveal and the sneak peek...

I really don't wanna give away anything so here's all I'm going to say for now..

Love Undone is another beautifully written novel by Diana Nixon. She has a way of drawing us into the story that keeps us turning the pages.
Well drafted with an engaging plot, Love Undone is not just a romance, its so much more.

Review for Good Side of Sin by K.S. Haigwood

Good Side of Sin by K.S. Haigwood

Blurb:
Josselyn has just spent the last three months in intense Line of Defense training so she could join Malcolm’s search party. Little did she know the archangels had no intention of letting her bring back into Heaven an angel who had opened a portal between Heaven and Hell, at least not before saving God's creations from the tight grasp of Lucifer first.

Three months have passed since the angel Rhyan released nine repented demons from Hell, and now innocent people are dying, but their souls are not going to Heaven. Josselyn's mission is to find the demon responsible for stealing the souls and bring it to justice before Lucifer gains enough power to rise and claim Heaven and earth as his own.

Her whole world is shaken when she discovers what tool Lucifer is using to track down the one key to the release of his eternal damnation. Thoros is one half-souled immortal she prayed she would never see again. The ex-Prince of Lust had stolen her heart and crushed it with a cheeky smile. Now, not only is she being forced to put her damaged ego aside and face the only man that has ever hurt her, but she has to work with him in order to complete her assignment.

Is she strong enough to keep from falling in love with him again? Or is their love the only thing that can keep Lucifer from getting the one thing he wants most?

Review:
After reading Hell's Gift I thought this one is going to be my favorite in this series that was till I finished Good Side of Sin! Now this one is my new favorite in the series.
It follows Josselyn as she sets out on an seemingly impossible mission to save Heaven and Earth from Lucifer's tricks, and boy does he have some up his sleeve!

I'll be honest, in the beginning it is sort of a drag and you will wonder where this is headed, but keep going it gets so good! Good Side of Sin was an amazing read. With twists that you never saw coming and some gasp worthy moments.
As always I loved the writing style and the characters were great. I loved this new world created by the author Limbo. All of her book worlds are so different from the last and yet somehow it comes together.

Overall an amazing, adventurous, action packed and with a bit of "Aww" moments in there, Good Side of Sin has been an amazing read!

PS: I loved that some of our favorite characters showed up here! Not telling who, its for me to know and for you to find out! ;)

Review for Hell's Gift by K.S. Haigwood

Hell's Gift by K.S. Haigwood

Blurb:
Depression consumes the guardian angel, Rhyan, after his human charge chooses her soulmate over him. Filled with anger and despair, he lashes out. And when his hate-filled words land him neck-deep in Hell, he realizes he's gone too far. He expects trouble, but not to discover his own soulmate in the fiery depths. Abigail is there with good reason, but she's done her time, and in order to save them both, Rhyan must strike a deal with the Devil. The stakes are higher than ever before, with his soul, his friends and even the fate of Heaven and Earth in jeopardy. If he fails, Rhyan stands to lose more than he ever feared. Will true love be denied? It will take everything he's got to break down the traps Lucifer puts in his way. New lines are drawn and old scores are settled, and Rhyan is in for the fight of his life. With Abigail as the prize, and humanity in the balance, he will stop at nothing to claim...Hell's Gift

Review:
Hell's Gift was so not what I expected it to be! It picks up after Save My Soul. Though it can be read as a stand alone, I feel reading the first book provides a certain depth and connection with the other characters.

As you can guess from the title, this books events take place in hell's realm. Rhyan has been cast out from heaven so that he can meet his soulmate and hopefully get out of his depression. Will he be able to save more than just his soul? I'm not gonna tell you, but you will be in for a hell of a surprise!

In the start I'll admit the story gets a little confusing with the jump in POVs (sort of reminded me of Dan Brown's novels where he keeps jumping to different POVs) but believe me once you get into the book it all comes together in a nice adventurous package!
To be honest, Rhyan's character was not one of my favorites in the first book but this one just might have convinced me that he's okay ;) I loved, loved, loved the story. It's got humor, action, adventure, and sarcasm. What more could I want? I also found the description of all the different sydes of Hell to be very intriguing. That's one thing you can expect from this author's books, all of them have a very different take on the world she portrays in her books.
As always I loved the writing style, but it was really difficult for me to read a certain character's lines (I hate it when I can't get the pronunciations right, pet peeve!)

Amazing, amazing, amazing - that's all I can say! Another brilliant book by K.S. Haigwood!

Review of Save My Soul by K.S. Haigwood

Save My Soul by K.S. Haigwood

Blurb:
Kendra Larkin had everything going in the right direction. Her life was seemingly perfect, and she wouldn't have changed a thing about it. Unfortunately, the course of her life was about to be forever altered. A tragic rappelling accident lands her on Dr. Adam Chamberlain's operating table.

She agrees to a deal proposed by a guardian angel to help save the soul of the man who is both her doctor and soulmate. If she is successful, she gets to keep her life. However, she later learns that it isn't just her life that's in jeopardy, but her soul as well.
Even with the help of her handsome guardian angel, Rhyan, it seems there is no happy ending in sight. Torn between her newly discovered love of Rhyan, and the undeniable attraction she has for Adam, Kendra finds herself at a crossroad. With Adam's steadfast rejection of God, and his guardian demon conspiring against her, she fears her soul may already be lost.
Will she find a way to overcome the evil her life is suddenly burdened with? Or will Adam's guardian demon win both their souls and make Kendra his own personal puppet in Hell?

Review:
All it takes is a week. Within a week Kendra has already died more times than any normal person should and survived, has seen miracles and has found her soulmate. But will she be able to keep him?
Follow Kendra and find out how she struggles to restore faith in a man who has long lost it and tries to save both their souls.
(That sounded more like a back cover description. :P But I didn't want to give anything away!)

Save My Soul was an amazing read. It was sweet and refreshing. The concept and the story line was very different from what I've read so far.
The concept of a Guardian Angel and a Guardian Demon was really interesting. I loved how all the characters are so well thought out. This is one of those books that has you hooked from the get go. So be prepared to not move for a while. ;)

There was a bit of abruptness I found in a few places but apart from that it is beautifully written and flows effortlessly.

Another amazing read from K.S. Haigwood!

Review of Love Lines by Diana Nixon: Love Lines Blog Tour

Love Lines by Diana Nixon

Blurb:

The traces of supernatural powers have always been crossing the world of human beings. Many people know about the existence of healers, mind readers, oneiromancers and wizards. But for centuries their lives have been kept secret and no one has ever heard about Dever, a kingdom of mysteries and magic.
Neither has Eileen Clark, whose life has never been different from the one other teenagers have.
Everything changes the day Eileen receives an invitation to join the ranks of Dever’s students.
Nothing will ever be the same again…
New life, new friends, new enemies…
And love so powerful that no magic will be able to destroy…

Review:
Love Lines follows the story of Eileen Clark, who was supposed to head off to a normal college and have a normal life; but she is invited to join the ranks at Dever, a university for the magical and supernatural. Now nothing in Eileen's life is remotely normal, she struggles to adjust and soak in all the new information about this world she never knew existed, a love so powerful and enemies already out to get her.

Diana Nixon has created yet another enchanting book world to keep her readers completely engaged in the story.
One of the things that I like about this author's work is that the reactions of the characters are reasonable and actually not that different from how any of us would react if we were in that place. Which lets us understand the characters better and connect to the story.
I loved the descriptions of Dever I could almost imagine how it looked! (and this isn't something I can do all the time! :P )
This is one of the books that I would love to see as a movie because well the effects would be fantastic!
Another thing I loved about this book are the little legends mentioned in the books, I think it adds more to the whole book world.

Just one thing that I would say is I wish it was a tad more polished! It would have made the whole reading experience better.

Overall - A beautiful and engaging story full of mystery and magic.

PS - Isn't the cover just GORGEOUS!?! ^_^ <3

The Deathly-Roses Vol 1 Blog Tour!

The Deathly-Roses Vol 1 by Melina Turner

Blurb:
(TDR is a flash fiction novella series)
I had scratches and scars all over me but they were slowly disappearing, which was great and would let my beauty settle in. I looked at myself focusing on different parts of my face, something was different. Was it my full lips? The cleaned face? The well-plucked eyebrows? No, it wasn't. It was my eye color it had changed...
Meet Wisty, a teenager forced by her family to bond to the richest, in Acrelain. But dire punishments have given her something she never believed was true. Join Wisty as she sets off on her journey between good and evil to find the very truths...that could break her or make her stronger.

I'm not scheduled for a review, I know but for a prelude to that thing down there (the sketch... isn't very good I know) I thought I might as well post it.

Review:
The Deathly Roses...
The title itself would make me want to read the book. The first time when Melina told me about this book's title I loved it! I thought it’s different; it’s got a cool ring to it and it’s mysterious… I set to read it and finished it rather quickly.
I’d say this that I’m not a fan of this style of writing but I really liked the story line. By the time I was done reading it made me anxious to find out what would happen next.
Only negative, it just needs a little more polishing for me...

It’s not very often that I’m inspired to sketch, but after reading the book I kept thinking about the title and ended up sketching... Any book that can inspire me to do anything is definitely a must have for me!

A fast paced gripping story and an original take on things. Can’t wait to see where she takes this journey to next!

My well sketch :P

Lemme know how it is?

Prelude Blog Tour - Spotlight, Review and Giveaway!

Prelude: A Creatura Novella by Nely Cab

Blurb:
Prelude – Creatura 0.5

It’s not easy creating life, but that’s what Deus was meant to do. And as amazing as his new creations may be, Deus finds that there’s nothing wonderful about being the only person in existence. Using his power, he molds a companion to keep him company; only, something goes awry and Starr soon proves to be as wild as the animals he’s crafted.
What do you do when the only other person in the universe hates you? You fall in love, of course…because that’s how forever begins.

Review:
Prelude as the name suggests is a prequel to Nely Cab’s (must read for the romantics out there) novel – Creatura.
Well first off can we all just take a moment and appreciate the GORGEOUS cover?! It is so damn good!

I’ll admit at first I was a bit confused, but hang on to it; it gets better.
With two very strong willed characters – Deus and Starr, Prelude gives us Creatura fans a little something to tide us over till the next book. I loved the book world created and the writing style flowed beautifully.
Although, not as obviously romantic as Creatura, Prelude has its charms.

What I take away from the book is this – Love is complicated, love is lethal, and hope saves us all.

Excerpt:
DAY 51
Seven weeks have passed. I’ve let time continue, but I haven’t moved an inch. I’ve been standing in the same green field staring at a motionless, crouching Starr. She’s a tiny and fierce wax statue again. I consult the voice of reason—my soul.
The voice of reason is the force that guides me. It’s within me, like a second person but without a body. It offers its wisdom, which is how I’ve been able to construct the Universe. But this voice, it also annoys me, and it won’t let me modify some things, including Starr.
No. This is her essence, and it cannot be changed, my inner self says in my head every time I so much as think to attempt it.
As I watch her, I know that I’m not afraid of Starr like the men of future Earth are afraid of their women. No. Not at all. What I am is truly and without a doubt horrified of her. I don’t know what to do.

In my hand, I materialize a baseball bat.

Review of The Souls of Rain by Diana Nixon

The Souls of Rain by Diana Nixon

Blurb:
The secrets of the heavens had always been carefully guarded. Until one day when the angels realized that what they used to believe in was nothing but a cruel game between heaven and hell.
And Claire’s life is a part of that game too….
She is a guardian angel. She always thought that her existence was perfect. But perfection is a very relative term, and no one is protected from making mistakes.
Everything changes the moment Claire gets a new assignment. Guarding humans has never been easy, and this time won’t be an exception.
Alan Rosenford is a spoilt party-boy, whose life is a hurricane of risk and adrenaline rush. His soul is damaged, his heart is bleeding, and there are so many things he prefers to keep private….
The words they have never said before ….
The sins they have never committed….
How much does forgiveness of the heavens cost?

Or maybe even the heavens make mistakes?...

Review:
Well first off let me just say this is one of those books you can definitely judge by its cover, it is gorgeous and so is the story…

The Souls of Rain is a new twist to the guardian angel story.
Claire is a guardian angel who does her job very well. She is one of the best there is.
Then there is Nolan… Ah Nolan. An ex-angel who was cast out of heaven. He is my favorite character in this book! His witty remarks and his well his whole persona is amazing to read.
And there is Alan Claire’s new assignment. What do I say about him? He is portrayed as a bad boy in the start but actually he isn’t. I loved how they showed how fragile he is and how he needs Claire to protect him not only physically from the daemons but emotionally as well.

I loved the whole book world that Diana Nixon created. It was amazing to read. I also loved the writing style. It was descriptive without being overtly descriptive.
An amazing read and a wonderful book world!

How To Kill A Rock Star by Tiffanie DeBartolo

I am so much in goddamned love with this book!!!
I love, love, love a book where the characters are passionate about what they do and what they love. And this book oozes passion from every page... It makes my heart sing and made me smile at the silly little things.
