This past weekend was the 24 in 48 Readathon for July. It was my first Readathon challenge ever and the first #24in48 too.
The premise of 24 in 48 Readathon / Challenge is simple - To Read for 24 hours out of the 48 hours of the weekend. Seems simple enough right?
The challenge appealed to me because -
A. Its endearing to me, the idea of reading together. I've always loved reading together, be it with my Mom - both of us reading our own books sharing the comfort of books and loving company, or with my book babes - one of us reading a book then forcing the rest to read or just picking and reading a book together. The idea of just reading with passionate book lovers from all around the world was something special for me. I mean if you think about it, someone across the globe from me was reading at the same time that I was reading. How could I not love it?
(I'm a ball of mush I know)
B. Its a book reading challenge! I mean how could I, a Third Generation Bookworm, not love it? Its not possible.
So I signed up and spent a week thinking about my potential TBR. Then I threw that out of the window and just picked a book to start with that matched their theme for this time - diversity.
I started with From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon which was lovely ♥
Then I read a Paperback - American Gods by Neil Gaiman which is super interesting with really cool theories in the book. I didn't finish this though. ITS SO LONG! But I'll finish it soon because honestly its so good!
Then back to another ebook - Things That Shine by Bria Quinlan and Heidi Hutchinson. I LOVED the Brew Ha Ha Series and I can't form coherent thoughts and just gush about it. And this book too was lovely ♥
Then shifted to another ebook - Always Never Yours by Austin Siegemund-Broka and Emily Wibberley which again was so good. ♥
I kept switching to paperbacks between ebooks which I think was a good idea for me personally. A little break from the eye strain.
I finished 24 hours a little early and had a few more chapters to finish the book I was reading, so I kept reading and finished the book before the readathon ended. After that I felt so good because I didn't think I would actually be able to finish and also I felt the need to do something creative after. Which, whenever it happens, is an amazing thing for me.
So here is a little something I did after the readathon. It was so fun and silly.
I thought since I'm going all out anyway, I thought I'd combine my nerd and my love books and cute graphics. So here is what I came up with.
I did manage to complete the 24 hours of the #24in48 which was amazing.
I wish I had started with the stopwatch on my phone itself. It would have been much more satisfying to see 24 hours in one shot.
Well next time!
If I would have finished all the 4 books that I started out with, I would have read 1702 pages, and as it stands, I managed to actually read 1200 Pages. Which still is crazy for me. I don't think I've ever read that much in just two days!
Now this is kinda my favourite one. As I said I managed to finish three books and read a little over 1/3rd of the last one. This one was so fun to do! I kinda love how it turned out. I coloured in the book icons with a similar shade of the book covers. For American Gods, I just coloured in a portion of the book because I didn't finish it.
So here it is. My first ever Readathon. All done. I have to say when I started I didn't think I would be able to finish but now I feel kinda amazing that I was able to actually finish it.

Nerdy Stats
I read for a little over 25 hours and read about 3 books and a little over 1/3 of another one.
