What I did for my Mental Health during Mental Health Month

So hello again.

May is/was Mental Health Month and I quite enjoyed taking the time off this month. I think taking these breaks is helping quite a bit.

April and May have been so good for my soul though you guys. I think I really took care of my mental health this month.

Here's what I've done that made me feel quite a bit more like myself than I've felt in months now I think:

  • I took a couple of mini one day art workshops. SO FUN! And the workshops were such a nice way to kick back and relax. So good for my brain that likes to run in circles and just spiral out. Also it make me step out of my comfort zone a little, going out interacting with people is something that I'm not always comfortable with. So this was a good experience. Definitely will try to do more of these kinda things.
  • Met up with friends for fab meals and caught up. One of the things that makes me feel the best is when I feel like I'm truly helping a friend out. Whether its just listening to them, or offering gentle advice or just sending a message to bolster their confidence. There's just something about helping someone you truly care about that just makes me feel better too.
  • Took a break from all the review books! So I missed signing up for one of my regular monthly review things by mistake, but gods that just worked out so well! I maybe read one book that I got from a giveaway, other than that I just sat and caught up with my 2018 Reading List of new releases and my TBR pile. SO MANY WONDERFUL BOOKS!! 😍 Reviews hopefully coming soon ♥ I think reading books that I didn't HAVE to read or finish within a certain period of time made me feel relaxed and love it again like I used to.
  • Went on a mini trip with the fam ♥ Which was lovely and I pulled off a fantastic surprise that everyone loved. That was another thing, it just makes me so happy to see when my little surprise was appreciated and loved so much. It makes my heart happy.
  • And the best thing, I got to spend more or less 4 days with the tiny human (my niece) !! ♥♥♥ She's honestly the cutest thing to me and so precious! I can't even... ♥
But obviously there have been ups and downs too. I don't wanna say that its all sunshine and rainbows you guys. Even if I do a lot of things for my mental health, I still find that sometimes I get stuck and not feel my best. There have been days when I've wanted to do nothing but sleep, when I've been so frustrated and annoyed for no reason, but the only thing that you can do is push through. I've also been sick and had to take antibiotics for that which have made me so damn sleepy. I'm still sleepy even after a week.

Hopefully I'll be a 100% soon and things can go back to my normal.

I also posted a little dot painting I did for Mental Health on my Instagram if you wanna check it out my handle is @thecuriositykey.

I'll leave you with this lovelies, if you're feeling lost and stuck, it gets better. You matter. You are loved.

Take care of you boo.
